Next Stop for the Edmonton Oilers... the Stanley Cup Finals

Wow this is awesome. The Edmonton Oilers are on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1990, which happens to be the last year they won the Cup. This team has overcome so much this year... blown calls, injuries, sickness during the playoffs etc. Chris Pronger continues to impress. Not only should he win the Conn Smythe as playoff MVP, but also the Norris trophy as the league's top defenseman. What poise this guy has out on the ice.

Having said that the entire team continues to impress. This cohesive unit is playing for each other. Blocking shots (some with their faces a la Steve Staios), playing hurt with serious injuries from the regulat season..... this team deserves the Cup. They knocked off of the top team in the league not to mention two of the hottest teams going into the playoffs (San Jose and Anaheim).

After last night's game 5 win over Anaheim I am still in a little bit of shock.... the Edmonton Oilers are going to the Stanley Cup Finals. Congratulations to the 2006 Western Conference Champions, the Edmonton Oilers.
