Next Stop for the Edmonton Oilers... the Stanley Cup Finals

Wow this is awesome. The Edmonton Oilers are on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 1990, which happens to be the last year they won the Cup. This team has overcome so much this year... blown calls, injuries, sickness during the playoffs etc. Chris Pronger continues to impress. Not only should he win the Conn Smythe as playoff MVP, but also the Norris trophy as the league's top defenseman. What poise this guy has out on the ice.

Having said that the entire team continues to impress. This cohesive unit is playing for each other. Blocking shots (some with their faces a la Steve Staios), playing hurt with serious injuries from the regulat season..... this team deserves the Cup. They knocked off of the top team in the league not to mention two of the hottest teams going into the playoffs (San Jose and Anaheim).

After last night's game 5 win over Anaheim I am still in a little bit of shock.... the Edmonton Oilers are going to the Stanley Cup Finals. Congratulations to the 2006 Western Conference Champions, the Edmonton Oilers.

The Edmonton Oilers Continue to Roll

Wow, the Oilers continue to impress even the biggest of Oilers fans... me. What a tremendous team effort. With a third of the team battling the flu even... what heart... what determination. Tomorrow is a huge game. Game three in Edmonton. You can bet it is going to be pandomonium. You can also bet that the Ducks are going to come out flying. The thing is that the Oilers may just come out even harder playing in front of the home crowd.

I Ducks need to win this one. So they will be playing desperate hockey. If the officials call a lot of penalties early on, you can expect the Ducks to capitalize. They have no choice. The thing is Dwayne Roloson is playing the best he has played in his career... not to mention the stellar play of Chris Pronger. I have to say that Chris Pronger is my vote for the Conn Smythe (Playoff MVP). What the guy play he is very poised and contributes both defensively and offensively. He continues to impress.

Go Prongs.... Go Oilers!!!

NHL Round Three Playoff Picks

Wow what a great playoffs it has been thus far. After a one year abscence due to the lockout the season started with 30 teams vying for the Stanley Cup... sports greatest prize. Now we're down to the final four and can you believe that my fav. team is among them...

I've taken a beating on my playoff picks this year... so what do I do? I make more picks... and here they are - Round Three Playoff Picks:

Eastern Conference
(2) Carolina vs. (4) Buffalo
This is a tough pick to make. Two pretty equal teams... I'd like to see Carolina win..
Pick: Buffalo in Six

Western Conference
(6) Anaheim vs. (8) Edmonton
Well the Oilers are playing amazing, but I have a feeling that Anaheim might just do it...
Pick: Edmonton in Seven... or six... I say Oilers in Six

an Edmonton / Buffalo final? WTF?????

Oilers Win Oilers Win!!! 8 More Victories to the Stanley Cup

Wow can you believe the Edmonton Oilers have done it again. What a team effort.... what determination. Even I, the mightiest of all Edmonton Oilers fans am impressed. You can go down the list, Pronger, Peca, Smyth, Horcoff, Staios, Torres, Laraque, Stoll, Smith, Hemesky, Roloson etc everyone is playing fantastic.

What a successful season. I've waited since 1992 for this. I am ecstatic. This is unbelievable. The moves that Kevin Lowe has made this past year are paying off huge!!! Chris Pronger is arguably the best defenseman in the league. He is even better than I thought. The man should win the Norris trophy this year.

The effort exerted by this team is unmatched by any of the other three remaining teams in the playoffs. Keep up the work Oilers... you've made this season a most eventful one. A success it has been.

Happy Mother's Day 2006

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mom's out there. It was great to see all of the families out there celebrating the day with their mom and grandmothers. The thing that amazes me is why do we need a special day to celebrate mothers? They do so much for us... so for all of you dads, daughters and sons out there, make every day Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day mom!!!

NHL Round Two Playoff Predictions

Well the second round of the NHL playoffs begin tomorrow and it is time for my predictions. So here we go.

Eastern Conference

(1) Ottawa vs. (4) Buffalo
Pick: Ottawa Senators in Six

(2) Carolina vs. (3) New Jersey
Pick: New Jersey Devils in Six

This makes for a great third round matchup... Ottawa is still my pick to win the Cup, but the Devils are on fire!!!

Western Conference

(5) San Jose vs. (8) Edmonton
Pick: Edmonton Oilers in Seven

Hmm this is a tough one to pick. I am a diehard Oilers fan and they are playing fantastic, but San Jose has been on a terror. If the Oilers can take a physical game to the Sharks then they should be able to move on. I think that the winner of this series will represent the West in the Stanley Cup Finals. I hope that I don't jinx the Oilers by picking them to win.

(6) Anaheim vs. (7) Colorado
Pick: Colorado Avalanche in Six

I still cannot believe that Colorado took out Dallas. Personally I would like to see Anaheim win this series, but Joe Sakic is a great playoff performer and the Avs have more of a veteran team.

Key Performance Indicators

Here is a series of articles discussing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and how to determine key performance indicators for your site as well as how to measure KPIs properly.

Remember that Key Performance Indicators must acheive the following:

1. They must reflect your business or organization’s goals.
2. They must be measurable.
3. They must be a key factor for the success of your company or organization.

Have you determined the proper KPIs for your business?

Oilers Defeat the Red Wings

Well, well well the mighty Detroit Red Wings have fallen to the hard working Edmonton Oilers. Detroit led 2-0 going into the thrird period... and what a third period it was. Fernando Pisani scored a couple of inspired goals followed by a couple of gems by Ales Hemesky. (His second goal was a beauty).
The Edmonton Oilers deserve this. They have worked hard all year... and on many an occassion have been on the tail end of some blown calls, and on the losing end of games in which they deserved a better fate.

Chris Pronger has been amazing all season and should get some consideration for the Norris. It is apparent that the additions that the Oilers have made this year of Pronger, Michael Peca, Dwayne Roloson and Sergei Samsonov have paid off. The cool thing is, is that they have a chance do go even further in the playoffs. They will be playing the winner of the Anaheim / Calgary series I believe. Personally I would love to see the Battle of Alberta (can you image the intensity?) but Edmonton may fair a bit better vs. Anaheim (no disrespect to the Ducks).

Let's go Oilers....

Coming soon... round two predictions.
